Hi everyone,
This is my first second here. I've been doing some organic
gardening - this is just my second year and I love it.
My question is that, can I leave the spent tomato plants (and some
tomatoes) directly on the garden bed (or put it all in the compost
bin)? Somehow I think I heard some time back that it's not good to
leavel tomato plants in the compost or garden.
I'm fairly new to this. My parents were very avid gardeners but we
kids never paid much attention then - nor did they want us there.
They kept saying "No, we don't need help." "Go on, go do something."
Now I realize as I am gardening in later years, that they wanted
peace away from six loud kids!

I have established a nice perennial herb garden. Left everything out
last fall, and cleaned out the spent material in the spring. It was
lovely!
Thanks for your help.
